A Summer Without Reason I

The absence of your word
Has left life tasteless.
As each dawn rises,
I mechanically spoon
Bland life into my mouth
Where it is gently ripped apart
And swallowed to an abyss
Of obscure memories.

And each dusk concludes itself
To rotting thoughts of you
As restless slumber thickens
My mind
And I fall to a thoughtless oblivion;
A peaceful nothing.
